Starbox Subscription Box Review
Have you ever heard of Starlooks? They are a cosmetics company that creates make up, brushes, body care, hair care & more. There is a large line of products to test from Starlooks. Now with the invention of the Starbox it is your chance to try out ALL the products they offer.
You might have heard of subscription boxes before. These services generally offer a monthly box with sample sized products [4-5 samples is the norm] from all different types of cosmetic companies. With the Starlooks Starbox you will receive 3-4 FULL SIZED products all from the fabulous Starlooks line. For the low cost of $15 your Starbox will ship out around the third week of every month, chock full of designer surprises.
There is also an option to purchase past month’s boxes. These retail for $25 a box & are a fabulous way to keep up with the hype. You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time with no hidden fees. If you purchase the full year subscription you will be auto-renewed at the end of the year – so no need to worry about missing a box anyway!
I received one box from Starbox to test out for the month of August 2012.
Right off the bat this box is totally worth it: the gloss & brush alone cost more than $15. The cream liner is not available on the website at the time of writing this review. I think it is really awesome to try products before anyone else!
The lip gloss has a smooth, creamy consistency. It is not very sticky & adheres to the lips well; even when drinking. Pink Petal Rose is a natural pinky color that blends effortlessly with my mouth. Some people might shy away from it because it looks quite frosty in the tube, but a lot of that sheen is lost once applied.
Sculpture is a gray/green shade of liner that looks flattering with most skin tones. The creamy consistency makes this liner fabulous for smudging & smoky eye looks. I also LOVE that it comes in a clear glass pot, no need to fret about BPA in my make up!
When I create smoky eyes I like a stiff angular brush. The 844 Pointed Slant Brush has a great shape that is meant for accomplishing this. Since the bristles are soft it can make it difficult to smear the liner before it dries. I noticed that I had to stroke more times than usual to get the product to move on my skin. 844 Pointed Slant has the makings to be a fabulous smudger but it needs shorter, thicker & tougher bristles to make it happen.
Being a fan of Petrology my whole life I was absolutely delighted to find the small hunk of Quartz Crystal at the bottom of my chic subscription box. It is a cut, clear Quartz that would make a fabulous necklace. Right now I have it hanging out amongst my candles & wax warmers.
Subscription boxes are a fabulous way to test out products before making a full sized decision. With Starbox you automatically get that glorious sized product & a fabulous surprise every month!
Have you tried a subscription box service yet? What are your thoughts on the Starlooks products & brand? Let me know in the comments!
